Key point

  1. Local update in Tower Hamlets:
    • 133,935 residents have now been vaccinated with their first dose.
    • 63,847 residents have had their second dose administered.
  1. Covid-19 cases increase in Borough: The number of new people testing positive for Covid-19 in Tower Hamlets has more than doubled than the previous week. The Delta variant (the variant first identified in India) is now the most commonly detected variant in the Borough. This makes it especially important to continue to follow the hands, face, space, fresh air advice and take your vaccine when it is offered to you.
  1.  Over 25s can now book a vaccine: Anyone aged 25 and over can now book their vaccine appointment. In Tower Hamlets there are local clinics (including pharmacies in the borough) and mass vaccination sites, including Westfield.

  1. Household vaccine appointments: Anyone eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine and booking locally in Tower Hamlets can bring members of their household to get vaccinated at the same time. Please call the vaccine helpline to book your household appointments on 020 7364 3030. It is really important to book because more vaccines are needed for a household appointment. For more info, visit the Council’s website.
  1. Community Collect programme: Anyone who wants to take up free regular rapid testing, can pick up tests through Tower Hamlet’s community collect programme and take the tests at home. You can collect two boxes which include seven tests. They can be collected from a number of places, click here to find out more. You can also order coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid lateral flow tests online or by calling 119.
