Could you be a trustee?

Real is recruiting Trustees! This is an exciting opportunity to gain voluntary experience for your CV. It’s also an opportunity to have your say on the future of disability equality in Tower Hamlets.
The deadline to apply is 17 May 2021. If you’re concerned about meeting this for any reason let us know. Elections will be held for trustees on the 19 of June at our AGM.

Many of us know what it’s like to have services cut, benefits reduced, and to feel like our voices are ignored. Having a strong Board means Real can use our experience to address these issues, including helping the council and other organisations support local people better.

You don’t need any special qualifications to be a Trustee – you just need to share our vision of an equal society for disabled people. We provide lots of support, including training and access support.

If you’d like more information about becoming a Trustee we are holding 2 Information Workshops on:

4 May 5.30-7pm

13 May 11am-12.30pm

Workshops will take place online on zoom. You can sign up here. We will explain more about what would be involved and what you could get out of it.

There are 3 steps to becoming a Trustee:

1. Become a Member of Real

Please check the information on the Become a Member page.

. Fill in a Trustee Application Form

Download the Trustee Application Form from the bottom of this page. You must send the form back to us by Monday 17 May.

3. Be voted in at the election at Real’s AGM on 19 June 2021

Members vote for the Board of Trustees at elections during the Annual General Meeting that’s happening during our event on 19 June.

There’s more information in the ‘Board of Trustees’ fact sheet at the bottom of this page.
