The role of the Steering Group

The Local Voices steering group is made up of local disabled people from Tower Hamlets who are keen to make a difference.

You don’t need any formal qualifications or experience to be on the steering group, but you do need to be able to commit to attending the meetings at different times of the day, and doing some work (with support, if required) with other members.

The steering group meets every two months (click here for current list of meeting dates) to look at the overall progress of the project. Steering group members also have the opportunity to help manage specific projects, we are working on this year.

There is someone at Real who will be support the Steering Group and all members will have access to training, supervision and support with any access needs. You can also claim reasonable expenses agreed in advance.

We are always interested in recruiting more members for steering group. Do get in touch if you would like to join, and help run this important project for local disabled people. By being involved you get to make an important difference for disabled people across the Borough, and you can also gain useful skills and experience for other roles.
