- Local update in Tower Hamlets:

- 207,547 residents have now been vaccinated with their first dose.
- 173,061 residents have had their second dose administered.
- New vaccination site: From Monday 13th September a new vaccination site is opening at Queen Mary University of London Campus on Mile End Road. This walk-in centre is available to anyone eligible for a vaccine:

- Opening hours are 11am-6pm, 7 days a week

- Vaccines for 12-15 year olds: Children aged 12 to 15 who are at higher risk of becoming poorly with Covid-19 are now eligible for the vaccine, if:
- They live with someone who is more likely to get infections (for example, someone who has HIV, had a transplant or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)
- They have one of the below conditions that means they’re at high risk from Covid-19:

- A severe problem with the brain or nerves, such as cerebral palsy
- Down’s syndrome
- Severe or multiple learning disabilities (or they’re on the learning disability register)
- A condition that means they’re more likely to get infections (such as some genetic conditions or types of cancer)

Children aged 12 to 15 who are eligible, will be contacted by a local NHS service such as a GP surgery to book their vaccination appointments. We are still waiting on the decision of the UK’s four Chief Medical Officers on vaccination for all 12 to 15-year-olds.
4. Community Cuppa, every Friday 10:30 am: Every Friday morning, Tower Hamlets Council run an online zoom session as part of the Covid-19 Community Champions network for members of the public to drop in for a cuppa & a natter.
