- 202,404 residents have now been vaccinated with their first dose.
- 147,299 residents have had their second dose administered.
- Covid-19 weekly incidence rate has increased again:The rate of people testing positive for Covid-19 in Tower Hamlets has unfortunately increased again so we are still rated as MAROON RED. The rates are highest in 15-34 year olds. Rates are much lower for the over 60s but are also starting to increase. The best ways to protect yourself are:
-
- Carry out regular testing twice a week
- Isolate if you have symptoms or test positive
- Get vaccinated
Book your vaccine here, and make sure you follow Covid-19 safety guidelines.
- 16 and 17 years olds eligible for vaccine:16 and 17 year olds and those aged 12-15 who are either clinically vulnerable or live with someone who is clinically vulnerable are now eligible for vaccination. Speak to your GP or call 020 7364 3030 to book.
- Guidance for clinically vulnerable: The latest information suggests that having two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine reduces the severity of the illness if you catch the virus. However, as you may remain at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill if you were to catch Covid-19, you may wish to think particularly carefully about additional precautions you can take. There is a separate guidance page for clinically extremely vulnerable people that contains some examples of these precautions.Click here for more information.
- Changes to self-isolation guidance: If you’re fully vaccinated or under 18 you no longer need to self-isolate after close contact with someone who has Covid-19. If you have symptoms you should still isolate and take a PCR test. Find out when to self-isolate and what to do on the NHS website
