Direct Payment Worker

Role: Direct Payment Worker

Place of Work: Tower Hamlets

Salary: £30,398 per annum (1 full-time equivalent equals 35 hours)

Deadline: 9 am on Tuesday 13 November 2018

Interviews: Thursday 15 and Friday 16 2018

About the role

Real has delivered the Direct Payments Support Service in Tower Hamlets for over 10 years. Our objective is to support people to take control over their own care and support needs. We get great feedback from our clients, and are respected across the borough.

We are recruiting a new Direct Payments Worker to join our existing team of one team coordinator and 6 staff. You will spend your time in the offices of Real, and supporting clients in their homes and in other environments.

Existing experience of working with direct payments would be helpful, but it’s not essential. Anyone who has had a good track record of giving structured advice should be able to quickly learn the technical parts of the role, and we have a training programme to support this.

As a user-led organisation of disabled people seeking to represent the collective voice of our constituency, it’s important that we employ people who can engage effectively with the community that we are working with. For this position having a disability or long-term health condition, and/or speaking a local community language, would be an asset.
