Local Voices is your chance to influence local issues that affect disabled people and help make our borough better for disabled people and people with long-term health conditions.
You can get involved with the network over the phone, by email or by coming to meetings. It would be great to have your input.
The project is funded by Tower Hamlets Council and run by people like you. Real facilitates the project on behalf of the Council.
In 2016 the project is focusing on the following areas:
- making transport and our environment more accessible
- social care
- digital inclusion
To have your say in any of these topics, now or in the future, the best way is to join the Local Voices network. You can do that by clicking here. It’s free and anyone can join.
The project is run in conjunction with a steering group, made up of people who are disabled or have long-term health conditions from Tower Hamlets. Being on the steering group can be really rewarding and we will give you guidance, training and support to develop skills to help you do this. Click here to find out more about what this involves.
Local Voices is in its third year. In the first year, we talked with hundreds of people to find out their main concerns about life with a disability or long-term health condition. There is an executive summary and full report, which make for interesting reading.
