We need to hear from you!

A building has colourful graffiti saying Now and Then, Then and Now

THEN and NOW’ inclusive employment project empowers organisations to confidently recruit, employ and retain disabled staff with the minimum of cost, time or fuss. The project also aims to better support local disabled people into work by addressing the barriers and promoting positive change

The project is made up of two groups who work together to improve inclusion in employment across the borough:

Tower Hamlets Employers Network (THEN) – Business-to-business support network of local employers.

Network of Workers (NOW) – Currently employed disabled people and aspiring disabled employees.

Who are we?

A partnership of four specialist organisations:

  • Real is the disability organisation in Tower Hamlets. We actively employ disabled people and are expert at doing so. We know about the challenges of recruitment in our borough. We are leading on this unique project.
  • Legal Advice Centre (University House) is one of the oldest independent legal advice agencies in London.
  • Evenbreak is a social enterprise that connects UK employers with disabled candidates
  • PurpleSpace is the world’s only networking and professional development hub for disabled employees, network and resource group leaders and allies from all sectors

Commissioned by the Local Community Fund, this is an exciting three-year project.
